Applicants' fitness for admission to MBBS/BDS undergraduate and postgraduate medical programs at various government and private medical colleges across the country is determined by the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), a competitive examination utilized in India. NEET is annually administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Students are only admitted to medical colleges based on their NEET exam scores, which are based on a single entrance examination. Thousands of students take the very competitive NEET exam each year. The test comprises of 180 objective-type questions from the fields of physics, chemistry, and biology (botany and zoology) and is given offline (pen and paper). Four marks are assigned to each question, and one mark is subtracted for each erroneous response. The NEET exam takes three hours to complete.
